Jack In The Box
Posted on: 02/04/2009 11:52 PM
I am almost a 3 year resident of Dupont. I moved here with my mother from Lakewood in April 06.
I was 17 when I moved here. Didn’t like it much, a little boring,. Nothing for young people to do blah blah blah. I’m over that now. I am 20 now and I have came to terms with the fact that DuPont is not going to build or invite anything for young people. I work outside the city, play outside the city, and do mostly everything outside of the city. To me this is just a safe place to live, and a good one at that I have no complaints about the city itself. But sometimes I just want something quick and close to eat, and for that ALL we have is Jack In The Box. Have you ever been watching something on TV, an award show or something and somebody does something so embarrassing your embarrassed for them. Sometimes you might even have to change the channel its so embarrassing. Well that’s how I feel every time I go into Dupont’s Jack In The Box. Every time I go in there there’s endless people waiting for their orders .Some apparently annoyed, some too polite to say anything . They are slow lets face it, I looked back there at them making the orders one day ,if I worked like that when I was at McDonalds I would have been fired. No customer service, trust me they aren’t going out of their way to see you smile. I mean who is training these kids. Everything there is just out of order . There’s no push , everyone seems to be either confused or just walking around taking there time with your meal. Good thing they are next to a gas station because by the time you finally get out of the drive through your going to need to refill your tank trust me. Sometimes I just turn off my engine. I’ve actually seen people back out of the drive thru before someone pulls up behind them , they know the foods good but its just not worth the unexplainable wait. Sometimes I go all the way to Lakewood to avoid the mess that is Dupont’s Jack in the box. Another thing is the dress , Hey I wear baggy pants ,hat backwards , all of that, “off of the job”. These kids dress a little too casual and who’s letting them. Part of the problem is the managers they are either not good themselves or are just too young. Its kids managing kids. I’ve had good young managers before, but theses people aint it. Another Big problem and maybe the main problem is no competition . Since we only can have one fast food restaurant then that means anyone who doesn’t want to leave the city has to eat there. If we did have competition people could eat at the other fast food restaurants that were faster and had better customer service. This would most likely cause Jack in the Box to clean up its act because if they didn’t they would loose too much business to stay open. This is what competition does, it makes people strive for excellence . Fighting to be the best. . Doesn’t the Owner even care about this they are probably losing untold amounts of dollars because of this . Oh yeah that’s right since they own the only fast food restaurant in the city they don’t have to care right?
